Is it possible to remove/clean fonts?

Dear all,

my /usr/share/texmf-dist/fonts is taking 1.5gb (on a total of 20gb - my SSD is quite small).
It seems to me that this folder is full of A LOT of things.

Is there any way to clean it and remove unneccessary/unused fonts?

My archlinux has been installed in 2013, my point is: maybe I have a lot of unneccessary stuff.

Thanks for your help!

Re: Is it possible to remove/clean fonts?

Assuming they were installed properly with pacman, you can remove them with pacman.

EDIT: wait, that's a latex path.  The same holds, but you may not need to remove font packages, but excess latex packages.  Check with pacman to see what package(s) own those files.  Note that I've recently moved to a tlmgr managed tex install as the repo packages for LaTeX are *very* bloated with nearly every possible tex package, most of which you may never need.

Re: Is it possible to remove/clean fonts?

Thank you man.
My sort-of-fix is to remove texlive-fontsextra.
This simple step let me get 1 gb back of disk space.

Thanks for your help!
