Getting error with most recent sylpheed-claws (0.9.10-1)

I'm getting the following error when trying to run sylpheed-claws on my Arch 0.6 machine:

sylpheed-claws: error while loading shared libraries: libpisock.so.8: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Can someone help with this?

well by the looks of it one of the build depends may actually be needed as a run depends. you need to find out which package owns that file and install it essentially.

I'm able to start sylpheed-claws after installing pilot-link and gnome-pilot.  I don't know if both were required, but I installed them both.

Perhaps this will help someone else.

shame on me, my mistake, I tried to expand the functionality a bit. So that
sylpheed will be able to read jpilots adressbooks. Then i unistalled jpilot and
it still worked. So i missed that another dependency was required, namely
pilot-link. Gnome-pilot ist not required. I will solve that on monday since I
won't have access to my build box until then. I got a e-mail about that issue.
This why i got informed. Just to let you know, to file a bug report is probably
the best way to inform about broken packages.

Any ideas, keep jpilot support or skip it? Someone likes/hates it?

Re: Getting error with most recent sylpheed-claws (0.9.10-1)

personally i like the lightness of sylpheed-claws and was very disappointed when the previous forced users to swallow fancy apps for function many of us may not need.

i would say though asking here would only give you a small unbalanced set of opinions. maybe see what other distros do if it appears to be a common add on then by all means included it. it would be nice if it could be more of a modular function (*can* make use of jpilot stuff if the user has one and jpilot stuff is installed but not  force a user without one to have to swallow depends they may not want)
