cpufrequtils and powersave

Does the cpufrequtils and powersave conflict with each other, or can you run them both at the same time. I'm having issues with the cpu frequency.. For about 10 minutes everything is working fine, the cpu frequency stays at 600, then increases on demand. but after the it just stays at 1.8Mhz, it's driving me nuts.

Actually it seems to be working fine now, I was running the cpufreqd daemon instead of cpufreq.
