I followed every step of the wiki in order to install/update the Intel microcode of my machine: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/microcode
The output of the "dmesg | grep microcode" command to check the running microcode is the following:
[ 2.240807] microcode: sig=0x206a7, pf=0x10, revision=0x2e
[ 2.241237] microcode: Microcode Update Driver: v2.2.But it seems like, somehow, there's a microcode update available?
Input:
modprobe cpuid
bsdtar -Oxf /boot/intel-ucode.img | iucode_tool -tb -lS -Output:
iucode_tool: system has processor(s) with signature 0x000206a7
microcode bundle 1: (stdin)
selected microcodes:
001/136: sig 0x000206a7, pf_mask 0x12, 2018-04-10, rev 0x002e, size 12288The wiki specifies that "if an update is available, it should show up below selected microcodes". And, as you can see, something shows up below that line. But, except from the pf_mask, everything seems to be the same as the microcode running on my machine.
Is my microcode updated?
Thank you very much!
