Starting arch , I boot straight through the login screen , with no issues . After that when I try to start gnome , the screen goes all black and the CPU fan fires up to full speed , and then after a few seconds the computer shuts down .
I have collected the log of gnome from systemd And it shows this particular error before going all black and firing up the fans .
meta_kms_resources_init failed: calling drmmodegetresources() failed, assuming we have no outputs failed to create backend: no gpus with outputs found I am using proprietary NVIDIA Driver , version 428 . The GPU is 1080 , and is working perfectly fine in other distros (Void and Gentoo ) So as far as I can understand this is not a hardware issue.
How to go about this problem ? How can I solve it ?
