According to nvidia website it says I can use 4.18 (latest)
however according to the docs it says I need;
For GeForce 6/7 series cards [NV4x and NV6x], install the nvidia-304xx-dkmsAUR[broken link: archived in aur-mirror] package. Last supported Xorg version is 1.19.
I was wondering if anyone had this macbook version and had success with any of the newer drivers?

Geforce 7 doesn't mean Geforce 700, the Geforce 7 series came out in 2005, while the Geforce 700 series came out in 2011. You're good to use the regular nvidia package since you're looking at the proprietary driver. For a more detailed breakdown on which codenames/generations mean what, checkout Nouveau ( the modern Nvidia open source driver)'s wiki

By the way, your graphics card seems to be from the Kepler era and should be supported by nouveau including manual reclocking. So if you want, you can try that as well.

Thanks for the help both of you! I didnt realize the 7 and 750M were not the same series.
I am finding the nvidia dirver isn't working but isn't throwing any exceptions. It's very odd haha.
I saw that the nouveau driver was a lot worse in performance then the proprietary driver, is that still the case?
