Install Brother MFC-L2700DW on Arch Linux

Had printer working fine until March 1 update/upgrade. Will not recognize the driver which was grayscale everywhere. I initially downloaded from the AUR via yaourt. I removed it and downloaded via YAY and still, driver won't work.I can't follow the WIKI on packaging via git and don't know how to use rpmextract. Is there a simple way to get this thing going again? Even not so simple will work. Cups is working fine.

Re: Install Brother MFC-L2700DW on Arch Linux

You tried with this package : https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/brother-mfc-l2700dw/ ?

The comments on the aur package suggest it's broken / unmaintained .

Post your /var/log/pacman.log (if it's huge, use a pastebin client )

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.

Re: Install Brother MFC-L2700DW on Arch Linux

That may be pointless as I reinstalled Arch on my Desktop and laptop. I understand about the comments. It was working, though, up until the March first upgrade from Arch. I need the printer and will probably install a non ubuntu distro for the printer.  The driver in the AUR is not maintained and won't be. There is a way to extract it from the Brother site and package it. Also rpmextract, but those are both beyond my expertise. Thank you for your respose.
