Hang when resuming standby on an Asus N76VZ

Hi everyone,

I have been running Arch Linux on my ASUS N76VZ (*) for a few years, and since a few months I have had problems with standby/suspend.

When I close the cover or press the power button, the computer goes into standby, but when I press the power button to start it back nothing appears on the screen and everything seems to be blocked (screen blanck, can't be ping, no disk activity).  I also tried to display 'sudo journal -f' remotely using ssh ... but nothing shows when entering suspend mode.

The only way out of this state is to use a hard-reboot by holding down the power button for several seconds.

I tried a little bit of everything and spent many hours trying to apply solutions found randomly with google, without success.

Now I want to start back the debugging process and finally solve this problem. Where should I start ?

Thank you in advance.

Re: Hang when resuming standby on an Asus N76VZ

Small followup :

I upgraded bios to latest version. Now the problem is different : When I'm pressing power button to resume suspend, it starts back very quickly, but it starts a regular boot, like the PC was powered off.

I'm having pretty the same problem with N56VZ, since 4.19 kernel version. I opened a bugreport time ago, but without any luck.

I really hope this will be solved!

Same for me, since linux-5.0.5, systemctl suspend starts the suspension but when I'll press a key to wake it up, it starts a regular boot.
