I recently upgraded to a 1080TI and that required me to switch one of my cables to a displayport. I used to have two monitors that had 2 HDMI, now it is 1 HDMI and 1 DisplayPort. However, it seems that x server is not liking this. The DisplayPort monitor isnt automatically activated, and manually activating through arandr or xrandr causes strange issues.

How the window manager doesnt show up on the displayport monitor, and all applications immediately snap to the right side and I cannot move them.
My xrandr output is as follows:

It is definitely being detected, so this must be a configuration issue.

Did you perhaps in the past use 'nvidia-xconfig' or 'nvidia-settings' to create an xorg.conf file? If you did, maybe that file is breaking things.

I have no xorg.conf file.
