Long time no see fellow Arch users...
Not exactly a newbie but I've been away for a while vacationing at the DoC hotel/resort courtesy of the state. Figured I'd Say hello Again to any those who might remember me. A lot has changed I see. Been getting my hands dirty with arch again on my new HP Eliteook 840 G3... Once I'm caught up figuring out this whole EFI Bootloader issue I look forward to contributing this great no-nonsense community again...

Hello People!

Only used Windows since dunno... 5 years old? now im 23.
This is my first time using Linux and i loved Arch. Hopefully will learn many things :S

What i would like to know, when i run to see if this arch installation is OK, it says no... Soo am I in trouble sooner or later?

Hello everyone!

Just wanted to introduce myself.  Taken a long hiatus on IT, I'm able to go back to school now.  The only intimidating obstacle is the 9 years of catch up I have to do.  I'm up for the challenge.  Time to get into those man files!

Hello! New arch user since last weekend.
Took a bit to figure out how to properly get my xorg configured. After a bit of talking with people on IRC and looking at a chance forum post, finally figured out what I needed to do (i.e. uninstall nouveau, install nvidia drivers, then install bumblebee and primus).

Now everything runs beautifully. Looking forward to learning more about how to customize my system, do cool data-sciency things, and generally get more of a machine than I ever have with any other OS!

Ive been messing with unix-based operating systems for years, yet, never had the courage to go deep down. 5 years ago, i made a switch from Windows to MacOS because of my new job. But last june, I sold the MacBook and realised I really want to be more free and bought a used T420s. Since then, I tried numerous systems, but always inclined towards the full featured easy ones, because that was what i was used to from macos. But then I watched numerous RMS videos and also with the help of /g/ board, I really started to picking the route of self learning and self exploring. At the office, I asked for a pc instead of the mac mini, and I installed Debian on it as well as on the thinkpad. But last month, I said fuck it and, while knowing that i dont really "need" the thinkpad anywhat critically, i will try and learn the ways of Arch Linux. So far, its been great experience, everyone was really right when they were saying that the Wiki is superb and also huge thanks to Luke Smith for introducing me to the Arch world with his content.

I'm 53 years old and I'm french.
I've discovered linux at the end of the 90s with mandrakelinux but really switched to it with ubuntu in the middle of the 2000s.
I'm an Arch user since 5 years and i really appreciate it.

Hello fellow users!

I used Debian at a job 7 years ago, but didn't start dabbling with it more until 3 years ago. It wasn't until 9 months ago when I wiped my disk and installed Arch. Between those nine months I have dealt with many errors, not with Arch, but with my router, work PC, modem and such. Everything has broken except Arch, until yesterday when systemd decided to be a nucance and break init. Except for that it has been smooth sailing.

I have a good amount of experience troubleshooting technical issues and am happy to help anyone who has any problems with their installation.

I would also be pleased if anyone visited The Nebula Centre Project (link in signature). Between some creative experts, engineers and me, we have created something we feel has potential.

Hey folks. I've been using Debian for awhile and never really understood the hubbub about Arch, but I gave it a try this week and now I get it. I learned more getting it all set up than I've learned with all my previous distros combined, and having up to date packages is the bees knees. Consider me a fan!

P.S. Whoever came up with the ly display manager, I love you.

Been using linux on and off since highschool, 27 now, fedora and ubuntu. 7 months ago or so got into programming instead of gaming. Started with Common Lisp.
Used CFFI stuff but using C libraries when I don't know C made me feel like a hack. Learned some C.
Decided I needed a use for C before I could go much further, I'm not ready to play with SDL using C.
Figured Linux has a lot of C (or so they say) so I should learn it properly by getting good with Arch (keeping things simple as possible) and writing some of my own utilities or something.
Not that I know what I'm talking about yet. Hi.
