Old nvidia drivers detected

Hi all. I need to use a software called obs which is a software for screen recording that uses nvidia drivers. For a few days i was able to use it launching ir from shell with primusrun obs.
After latest update i can't use it anymore, because trying to start the screen record it says:

[h264_nvenc @ 0x562b88840800] Driver does not support the required nvenc API version. Required: 9.0 Found: 8.1
[h264_nvenc @ 0x562b88840800] The minimum required Nvidia driver for nvenc is 390.25 or newer

My nvidia drivers are:

[du@du ~]$ sudo pacman -Qs nvidia*
[sudo] password di du:
local/bumblebee 3.2.1-20
NVIDIA Optimus support for Linux through VirtualGL
local/lib32-libvdpau 1.2-1
    Nvidia VDPAU library
local/lib32-nvidia-390xx-utils 390.116-2
NVIDIA drivers utilities (32-bit), 390xx legacy branch
local/libvdpau 1.2-1
    Nvidia VDPAU library
local/libxnvctrl 418.56-1
    NVIDIA NV-CONTROL X extension
local/nvidia-390xx 390.116-8
NVIDIA drivers for linux, 390xx legacy branch
local/nvidia-390xx-utils 390.116-1
    NVIDIA drivers utilities
local/nvidia-settings 418.56-1
Tool for configuring the NVIDIA graphics driver

Bumblebee seems to work

[root@du du]# primusrun glxspheres64
Polygons in scene: 62464 (61 spheres * 1024 polys/spheres)
Visual ID of window: 0x110
Context is Direct
OpenGL Renderer: GeForce GTX 860M/PCIe/SSE2
61.610256 frames/sec - 68.757046 Mpixels/sec
60.059396 frames/sec - 67.026286 Mpixels/sec

It is strange that the nvidia drivers are 390.116 but it detects an older version. What can i do? Thank you for your help

Re: Old nvidia drivers detected

local/libxnvctrl 418.56-1
local/nvidia-settings 418.56-1

local/lib32-nvidia-390xx-utils 390.116-2
local/nvidia-390xx 390.116-8
local/nvidia-390xx-utils 390.116-1

You're mixing 418 and 390 drivers.

your card appears to be a GTX 860M with a GK104 chipset , from the NVE0 kepler family.
That card is supported by the 418 driver.

replace the 390xx pacakges with their 418 counterparts.

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.

Re: Old nvidia drivers detected

Depends on the kernel, if you use linux the latter, if you use linux-lts the former, if you use both, both.

Re: Old nvidia drivers detected

thank you. I just installed the right 418 drivers and the system is working fine except for steam that can't launch games. I think because 418 is missing the lib32 packages that are instead available for 390xx. What do you think i can do about that?

Re: Old nvidia drivers detected

The same thing you did so far, install the relevant lib32- variant...

Re: Old nvidia drivers detected

I am having the same problem (but without mixed drivers installed):

obs-studio error:

[h264_nvenc @ 0x560109352240] Driver does not support the required nvenc API version. Required: 9.0 Found: 8.1
[h264_nvenc @ 0x560109352240] The minimum required Nvidia driver for nvenc is 390.25 or newer

Strange, since I have 390.116 which is certainly greater than 390.25.

My drivers:

$ sudo pacman -Qs nvidia*
local/cuda 10.1.168-4
    NVIDIA's GPU programming toolkit
local/lib32-libvdpau 1.2-1
    Nvidia VDPAU library
local/lib32-nvidia-390xx-utils 390.116-2
NVIDIA drivers utilities (32-bit), 390xx legacy branch
local/libvdpau 1.2-1
    Nvidia VDPAU library
local/libxnvctrl-390xx 390.116-1
    NVIDIA NV-CONTROL X extension, 390xx legacy branch
local/nvidia-390xx-dkms 390.116-38
NVIDIA driver sources for linux, 390xx legacy branch
local/nvidia-390xx-settings 390.116-1
Tool for configuring the NVIDIA graphics driver, 390xx legacy branch
local/nvidia-390xx-utils 390.116-1
    NVIDIA drivers utilities
local/opencl-nvidia-390xx 390.116-1
    OpenCL implemention for NVIDIA

Re: Old nvidia drivers detected

"Quadro 600" - the GPU doesn't support nvenc, sorry.
