adding modeline to XF86Config to have desidered refresh rate

hi there,
I want my monitor at 1280x960@100hz. On windows I use it with this settings.

so i've modified XF86Config and I added:

# V-freq: 100.00 Hz // h-freq: 102.13 KHz
Modeline "1280x960" 221.41 1280 1392 1664 2168 960 960 964 1021

i used this generator: click

but when I enter in KDE, it goes down as "out of specifications"
why? sad

Re: adding modeline to XF86Config to have desidered refresh rate

x86config is not used by Xorg, what version of X are you using ?

to find the correct  modeline manually, set X to use 1280x960 resolution and let X decide the refresh rate.
Then use xvidtune to tweak the settings until you are satisfied with them and put those settings in the config file.

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.

(A works at time B)  && (time C > time B ) ≠  (A works at time C)

X11R7.
I read that it uses xorg.conf OR XF86Config... 0.o
X server starts and run from this file on my system.
Anyway it sets 1280x960 at 85hz.

I'll try with xvidtune, I have some general problems because I'm running 64bit version... I hope that xvid tune works.

Thanks
