Gnome shows only cursor after logging in

Hi everyone, I have a laptop that my wife uses. It is running Arch and Gnome. Since the last update my wife is unable to get to her desktop.

GDM works and she can login, but as soon as it switches away from GDM to what should be the desktop nothing happens. Only cursor will show but nothing else.

I can login into a TTY and do anything with her account.
I can login with my own account via GDM and get a desktop that fully works.
I have made a new account and it can also login via GDM and get to a desktop that fully works.
I have renamed the shell extensions folder in her home directory but it has not resolved the issue.

Does anyone know where to look?

The update was done this week so latest versions (3.32).

Re: Gnome shows only cursor after logging in

Post

sudo journalctl -b --no-pager

within [ code ] tags after a log in attempt on the problematic user.
