Console font changed after installing and running Xfce

I'm not sure why this affected the console font used prior to starting Xfce (I boot into the console, not the desktop), but now the font is huge. I know about setfont, but I'm not sure which font to use or how to make it permanent.

Also, why did this happen?

Unlikely, what's your graphics card? If you've installed the nvidia drivers as part of "installing and running xfce" that is to be expected. And not really fixable.

Yes, I installed nvidia drivers.

I can reinstall everything (I'm planning on doing it several times to practice anyway).

Is there some way I can avoid this next time, or is it inevitable because I have an nvidia card?

Use nouveau or hope that you are one of the few people where https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/GR … resolution properly works. Otherwise no you can't do much about that.
