$ cd yay/
$ls
PKGBUILD
$ makepkg -si
==>ERROR: You do not have write permission for the directory $BUILDDIR (/Programs/yay).

Sorry for taking so long, apparently I have internet problems too....

Also, I couldn't see the massage, I only saw it when I copied it.

Re: makepkg -si doesn't work

sudo git clone https://aur.archlinux.org/yay.git

Running git clone as root means the repository is owned by root:root and a none root user does not have write permissions hence the error.

Re: makepkg -si doesn't work

Hmmm... I tried without sudo, it said Permission denied... could it be the directory i'm trying to clone into?

Re: makepkg -si doesn't work

Yes, or it could be that the target directory already exists and is owned by root.  What is the current working directory where you are running those commands?

Re: makepkg -si doesn't work

I changed the directory... outside of root and it worked... *facepalm*.

Thanks, sir.
