cannot boot with GRUB after a legacy install

so i just finished installing arch and grub and the hard drive does not show up on the bios boot screen. here is how I partitioned my drive

Disk /dev/sda: 1.8 TiB, 2000398934016 bytes, 3907029168 sectors
Disk model: WDC WD2003FZEX-0
Units: sectors of 1 * 512 = 512 bytes
Sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 4096 bytes
I/O size (minimum/optimal): 4096 bytes / 4096 bytes
Disklabel type: dos
Disk identifier: 0xf6f0e694

Device     Boot     Start        End    Sectors  Size Id Type
/dev/sda1  *         2048     411647     409600  200M 83 Linux
/dev/sda2          411648   50743295   50331648   24G 82 Linux swap / Solaris
/dev/sda3        50743296  155600895  104857600   50G 83 Linux
/dev/sda4       155600896 3907029167 3751428272  1.8T 83 Linux

I understand you will most likely need some more info from the GRUB files so please tell me which commands to run and I will be quick to respond. thank you.

Re: cannot boot with GRUB after a legacy install

If the harddisk doesn't show up in your firmware we are likely not at a GRUB problem yet

Is your "BIOS" actually a BIOS system and configured to allow BIOS booting or would it only be UEFI? Check your firmware settings whether you have an option to enable CSM. Which motherboard are we talking here?

Also, please use [ code ] not [ quote ] tags for pasting output.
