[SOLVED] Console keymap stuck at en_us

I want to change all the keymaps and locales from the en_US.UTF-8 which I had configured during the installation, to English (Ireland).
My KDE keymap is set to en_IE, my KDE locale as well. My keymap whilst in KDE is normally set to Irish English, but during the SDDM
login screen the system keeps using en_US. The same goes for the vttys. This is very annoying.
I set up all (or almost all :-) ) the relevant settings to reflect that change. I am missing something?

$ grep -v '#' /etc/{locale,vconsole}.conf

/etc/locale.conf:LANG=en_IE.UTF-8
/etc/vconsole.conf:KEYMAP=ie
/etc/

$ localectl

   System Locale: LANG=en_IE.UTF-8
       VC Keymap: ie
      X11 Layout: n/a

$ locale

LANG=en_IE.UTF-8
LC_CTYPE=en_IE.UTF-8
LC_NUMERIC="en_IE.UTF-8"
LC_TIME="en_IE.UTF-8"
LC_COLLATE="en_IE.UTF-8"
LC_MONETARY="en_IE.UTF-8"
LC_MESSAGES="en_IE.UTF-8"
LC_PAPER="en_IE.UTF-8"
LC_NAME="en_IE.UTF-8"
LC_ADDRESS="en_IE.UTF-8"
LC_TELEPHONE="en_IE.UTF-8"
LC_MEASUREMENT="en_IE.UTF-8"
LC_IDENTIFICATION="en_IE.UTF-8"

$ echo $LANG
en_IE.UTF-8

$ grep LANG .zshrc
export LANG=en_IE.UTF-8

sudo grep LANG /etc/profile
    [ no results ]

Keyboard_configuration

localectl list-keymaps | grep -i ie

produces no matches.

Indeed - no matches! How did you know that? ;-)

$ localectl list-keymaps | grep -i ie
         [ void of emptiness  ]

So you agree the system is set to use a keymap that does not exist?

Re: [SOLVED] Console keymap stuck at en_us

I do agree. I have just realised that ( at least it seems ) that there is no such thing as Irish vconsole keymap in the world of Linux. and as of being too lazy to make a custom map ( or clone the UK one to )....
... The magic solution to my problem was to set vconsole keymap to UK keymap ( which is an identical one to the one I wanted to use ). The solution to SDDM being stuck at US keymap, was to generate a new 00-keyboard.conf in /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/ by using:

localectl --no-convert set-x11-keymap ie pc105
