I'm trying to share a folder in my Arch Linux to guest users in local network.
This is my smb.conf:
#======================= Global Settings =====================================
[global]
hosts allow = 192.168.1. 127.
map to guest = Bad User
load printers = no
printing = bsd
printcap name = /dev/null
disable spoolss = yes
show add printer wizard = no
logging = systemd
[comics]
path = /home/juan/Comics
public = yes
read only = yes
guest ok = yes$ smbclient -L localhost -U%
Unable to initialize messaging context
Sharename Type Comment

IPC$ IPC IPC Service (Samba 4.10.2)
Reconnecting with SMB1 for workgroup listing.

$ smbclient -N //localhost/comics

Try "help" to get a list of possible commands.
smb: \> ls
NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED listing \*I have read several posts in the forum with the same problem but either they are unanswered or the answers don't work.
What's wrong?
Thanks.

Please provide the modes of /home/juan and /home/juan/Comics

It is because your home directory doesn't have permission for "Others" to read it. Either make your home directory readable by others (don't recommend) or use
guest account = juanin your smb.conf

You are right. With "guest account = juan" works.
Thanks.
