I know how to install yay:
git clone https://aur.archlinux.org/yay.git
cd yay
makepkg -siWhat I want to do is to install it from my live USB installer.
I have indeed created my own archiso, with an installation script that installs Arch from scratch and customizes it to my liking.
However, the installation script is executed as root and root cannot call makepkg. I have created my user account on the target system using:
arch-chroot /mnt useradd -m -g users -s /bin/bash -G wheel, uucp "$user"If I do su $user to execute makepkg, my user is not recognize as it is a target system user and not a live user.
Is there a simple way to install AUR from a live ISO?

Build the package on an existing system.
Rebuild the live ISO including the package file (and all of the dependencies' package files)
From the live ISO, use pacman -U to install the packages.

Thanks.
So I did the following:
git clone https://aur.archlinux.org/yay.git
cd yay
makepkg -sI now have in my yay directory the following files/folders:
pkg PKGBUILD src yay-9.2.0-1-x86_64.pkg.tar yay-9.2.0.tar.gzWhich one should I copy in the ISO and point pacman -U to?

This information can be found in the manpages of makepkg and pacman. You can literally search for "pacman -U".
Besides that, there are only five entries in this folder. Try them.

pacman -U installs built packages.

And the winner is:
sudo pacman -U yay-9.2.0-1-x86_64.pkg.tarLast edited by neopium (2019-05-06 20:29:35)
