SVN Denies Access

Well, I am starting up a programming project with some friends, and decided to try svn. I have installed it, created a repository (kocc), and told svn to run with -r /path/to/repos where kocc is in /path/to/repos/kocc. I set up a password file with my username and password, yet when I run svn co svn://localhost/kocc, it returns

Authentication realn: <svn> kocc
password for 'arew264':
svn: Authorization failed

I entered the right password and everything, I don't understand what I have done wrong. I think my authz file must be wrong, as I really didn't know how to config it and could find no documentation on it (I am using svnserve without ssh).
