[Solved] Pacman doesn't update initramfs after nvidia upgrade

Title edited. Original title: Pacman doesn't run 90-linux.hook after nvidia upgrades

Hi, recently I had an issue with gpu drivers. The thread is here: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=246324

The summary is that I have intel gpu and nvidia gpu. Nvidia gpu stopped working, becase there was version mismatch. Eventually it was solved by running "mkinitcpio -p linux". However, today I upgraded nvidia package, and the same issue, with the exact same solution appeared again.

As I understand it, pacman should run 90-linux.hook, but didn't.

Is there a way to fix this, so I don't have to run mkinitcpio and reboot after every nvidia upgrade?

Thank you,
Soptik

Not sure where you got that understanding. Nvidia has nothing to do with the initramfs by default.

I added nvidia to mkinitcpio modules, which caused the problems that were solved by the thread I linked in original post.

Thank you, loqs, I missed this. I believe this is solved now.
