Do I need ESP partition mounted in fstab ?

Hi,

I am totally newbie in Arch and Linux specially. I have some question about esp partion and if is needed to has written this mounting point in fstab. I saw lot of videos where first was mounted partitions as is root, swap, etc and after was gennerated fstab. Finaly was installed arch with pastrap and changed root with arch-chroot. Then was created efi directoty and mounted to esp partition, but how I noticed, this esp partition wasn't added to fstab.
Do I need to have esp partion in fstab or not ?
Is esp partion needed after sucessfuly booted arch-linux or some modules, programs, etc. need access to this partition?
There are few options where I can mount esp partion as is e.g. /boot, /boot/efi or whats I like /esp. I mention it because, if I choose mounting point /boot, then except EFI files I have other files which was under /boot and now is all in esp partion.

Thank you and sorry for my english.

No.

The exception is for EFI_STUB booting, which requires that the kernel image be on the ESP so it would have to be mounted for kernel upgrades.

Video tutorials are not supported here. Read the wiki article for your preferred boot loader.

Re: Do I need ESP partition mounted in fstab ?

Thank you so much for answers, can I ask for another advice.

1. Which bootloader do you recommended for UEFI/GPT (Grub, rEFInd vs systemd-boot) ?

2. Last question what I have, where is good place to mount point for esp partion (/boot, /boot/efi, /esp) ?

Because I've read this article, that some bootloaders need kernel, initramfs files, microcode at same place as is bootloader.
Last thing what I want mention is, I've read this topic, and that it is not good to have esp partition mounted to the /boot/efi ?

Look at the chart and decide which one meets your requirements. Then read the wiki page for that choice and see where it recommends you mount the ESP. Don't look to the community to hold your hand and make your choices for you.

The wiki pages for each bootloader cover their requirements.  Pick whichever suits your requirements.
