How "export" pacman package for use on a different machine?

I have an older version of Pamac (GTK frontend for pacman) that I installed on my laptop last year sometime. Unfortunately, I do not remember where I got the files, or how I modified them to work on my laptop -- but they do work.

Since my pamac version is maintained by pacman, I wonder if there is a way to "export" the pamac pacman package (ugh) for installation onto my other machines? Currently, pamac-aur has introduced several features that do not work on any of my installations.

This seems unlikely. It would have been installed by makepkg/pacman, but AUR packages are not maintained by pacman. Look in /var/cache/pacman/pkg

If you mean by "export" to save a list of explicitly installed packages, there is a command for that, i dont know if it works with pamac though

pacman -Qe

There is an entry for backing up pacman package list . https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Pa … d_packages

Just change the pkgver in the PKGBUILD and build the older version.

There used to be a similar utility called bacman, but it was dropped about a year ago.

Re: How "export" pacman package for use on a different machine?

ls / -r | grep pamac

this will help you to find where the package is located.

To find built packages:

find / -type f -name pamac\*.pkg.tar.xz

To find PKGBUILD sources:

find / -type f -path \*/pamac\*/PKGBUILD

Wow, that thing opens up a whole new level of not only destroying things but also making it impossible to reproduce the steps that lead to your demise! I am impressed.
