[SOLVED]Changing resolution without scaling it

Sometimes I feel like my monitor is too large and I just want to look at a smaller screen space when I get frustrated.
So, I can change resolution with xrandr just fine, or even during grub or whatever. Although I don't want to do that one.
My problem is that it gets stretched to fill the screen and that defeats the point (and it's ugly).
I want it centered, not stretched, with the pixel aspect ratio of 1:1(square pixel) preserved. Basically I want to make my monitor smaller.
(It also helps with using graphics tablets, cuz they are often significantly smaller than the screen.)

I have GeForce GTX 1060 3GB (proprietary NVIDIA driver).

Don't understand what is the hype with big monitors these days. Can't find any decent one that is not 24"+

nvidia-settings, X server display config, advanced - the viewport settings. Make them all the same size and set the offset as you like it.

Last time I tried using nvidia-settings (a year ago), it was crashing and stuff, that's why I forgot it existed.
