I have set up a couple of mail filters to be run within Thunderbird. I am getting a lot of shit-mail and want to get rid of the vast majority. So i set up a filter, that looks like this:
Apply Filter When:
Manually Run [x]
Getting New Mail [x]: Filter After Junk Classification
Archiving [ ]
Sending [ ]
Match All of the Following:
From/Contains/String 1
From/Contains/String 2
From/Contains/String 3
From/Contains/String 4
Perform These Actions:
Delete Message
The filter does recognize the junk mail when it gets to the inbox, but what it does is only marks it all as "read" instead of deleting it.
If I mark something as a junk manually, Thunderbird deletes it immediately, though.
What am I missing? Thanks!

Check Account settings > Server Settings .
What option is selected under "When I delete a message:" ?
Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.
(A works at time B) && (time C > time B ) ≠ (A works at time C)

Sorry I had my exams going on so I couldn't come up with a reply sooner.
The option I had checked on is Move it to this folder (Deleted on [my_account]].
I tried switching on to delete immediately now to see what happens.
