Hi, is there an open source app that I can use from archlinux and swaywm that will allow me to send and receive SMS messages to my android phone, similar to whatsapp web? I understand that there would have to be an android "server" app running on my phone that syncs messages to the desktop client therefore both a desktop and phone app are required. I searched github but couldn't find any recent working solutions and I'm hesitant to use messages.google.com/web because I don't want them harvesting personal info.
Thank you

Have you tried KDEConnect?

It seems many phone providers run a SMS gateway that converts emails to SMS/MMS messages .
One example how this works : https://www.digitaltrends.com/mobile/ho … l-account/
Edit : seems I missed the "receive" part, so this is only a partial solution.

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.
clean chroot building not flexible enough ?
Try clean chroot manager by graysky

Lone_Wolf, that will allow one to send an email to a phone's SMS, but the "sender" will be your email address, not your phone number. You also cannot use this to view your SMS messages on your computer.
