So I installed the package ttf-symbola, but I still seen the emojis as empty squares. What am i doing wrong?
This is how I installed it:
git clone https://aur.archlinux.org/ttf-symbola.gitcd ttf-symbolamakepkg -siBtw, I compiled AUR packages in ~/.local/var/cache/pacman/pkg
I also installed ttf-emojione-color. Then I made a ~/.config/fontconfig/fonts.conf file, and added this to it:
<!-- This sets Symbola as the final fallback font for the monospace font family. -->
<match target="pattern">
<test name="family"><string>monospace</string></test>
<edit name="family" mode="append"><string>Symbola</string></edit>
</match> At last, I copied Symbola.ttf, Symbola_Hinted.ttf and EmojiOneColor-SVGinOT.ttf to /usr/share/fonts/myfonts/.
Furthermore, I thought that maybe I couldn't see it because of my editor (i use vim) so i add the following lines to my ~/.vimrc file:
set enc=utf-8
set fileencoding=utf-8But it still not working. Thanks for reading.

Which terminal are you using? Were you able to see the symbols before changing font?

So, you haven't told urxvt to use the font...
And you don't set your prompt in this file, that is done in your shell file (presumably .bashrc).
