Update system except for one package

So basically I haven't updated my system for a while and when have quite a few packages that need updating, but I am having problems with one of them so I would not like to install it. It would be cumbersome to copy all the names of the package and update them. I am aware that you can downgrade the packages and that is what I have been doing up until now. But in the future I would rather exclude packages like this from the install. Is there a way to do this? I have tried the wiki but I haven't found what I'm looking for (I probably missed it like I always do).

Re: Update system except for one package

What do you mean by "exclude packages like this from the install"?

What package are you talking about?

"man pacman" and search for ignore.   But be aware, Arch does not support partial upgrades.

Thanks, ignore might be what I'm looking. As I have took keep this specific version.

Re: Update system except for one package

The much better approach would be to identify the problem with that "one package" and fix it.  I don't see any of your threads that have even attempted that yet.
