Hi! The title says it all, on my Debian machine if I run cmus on screen and quit desktop, the audio still keeps playing, which is what I want. On my arch system when I logout and enter display manager the audio stops. It will continue after I login again. Where is the settings to configure this thing?

Hi tubep, welcome to the boards. Really should be working on Arch too, there's no setting for that, should work O.O.T.B...
I don't run a DE only WM's and use my own shell script as a DM, and, switching between WM's, even something like Alopex doesn't make a glitch in the sound.
There must be something in your environment breaking sound, do you use a DM?, that could be the problem, try plain startx.
Btw. I use MOC, but have tried CMUS, and that works too ;-)

Okay, i'm now also pretty sure it has to do with DM (lightdm on this case), if I hop directly to virtual console the audio continues to play, only seems to stop when DM is active. ps. haven't tried MOC, does it handle streaming internet radio too ?:)

Yep, I thought that would be it, they are nice when they work but mostly give users a headache when something goes awry.
I have no idea how you can solve this, but try another DM or brew something yourself..
edit: Yes MOC plays streams too, I'm using it on all NIX environments.
