i recently installed arch on my old macbook pro, and i've had great fun setting everything up and getting to know arch.
one thing i just can't seem to get to work is sound. As it says in the title, i can only get sound to play from the left speaker, and it's pretty badly distorted. I'll post some commands I've seen other people use to diagnose these issues:
$aplay -L

Discard all samples (playback) or generate zero samples (capture)

I'll bump this thread as I can confirm the sound distortion and only left speaker on the mbp7,1. I have an old (but good) macbook pro with arch, but i've had it installed with arch for severals years without any major problems.
So suddenly one day in this month of may, the sound is distorted and sounds very badly and only one channel is active (left). tried to remove ~/.config/pulse and .asoundrc but without any improvements.
This is the snd-hda-intel module and the CS4206 chip.
/etc/modprobe.d/snd_hda_intel.conf always has had the following settings:
options snd_hda_intel power_save=0Offline
After downgrading the kernel to 5.0.13 i have the sound working as it should. Tried testing the 5.1 line but it's a no-go.
