Hello. Lately I've been having problems with xdg-open, which just doesn't work. When I use it, it just hangs for a couple minutes and exits with an error. I use the browser vivaldi-snapshot, but the same thing happens when I set firefox as default:
$ xdg-settings set default-web-browser vivaldi-snapshot.desktop
$ xdg-open "https://duckduckgo.com/"
fish: “xdg-open "https://duckduckgo.co…” terminated by signal SIGSEGV (Address boundary error)$ xdg-settings set default-web-browser firefox.desktop
$ xdg-open "https://duckduckgo.com/"
fish: “xdg-open "https://duckduckgo.co…” terminated by signal SIGSEGV (Address boundary error)I don't remember when this started happening, but I think it was after some AUR update. (discord + vivaldi-snapshot updated at the same time) I've reinstalled these packages, but it didn't fix my problems.
I've read the xdg-mime, xdg-open and xdg-settings manuals and tried tinkering with them, but nothing seems to fix the problem.

Just to take fish out of the equation, does this happen if you try it in a different shell?

Bash:
$ xdg-settings get default-web-browser
vivaldi-snapshot.desktop
$ xdg-open "https://suckless.org"
Segmentation fault (core dumped)This takes about 3 minutes to run.

stat /bin/shxdg-open is a shell script, if it itself segfaults that means the executing shell segfaults
Also, and since it dumps the core, check coredumpctl on possible details.
Iff /bin/sh is bash, try
bash -x xdg-open "https://suckless.org"for some debug output.

The "bash -x" sure was a big helper here. I ran xdg-open and it showed some command scanning a directory in ~/.local/share/applications/wine/Programs/Sony/Vegas (not sure what it was exactly) and adding a "/" at the end of the path every time. I removed the directory and everyhing seems to be working as it should be. Sorry, but I am not able to post the output, because it got lost after running the successful xdg-open.
$ time xdg-open "https://suckless.org"
