Ncmpcpp slow hotkey seeking; using scripts?

So, yesterday I was trying to choose a music player for my needs and I noticed seeking in ncmpcpp through the hotkeys is very slow to respond.
Like there is a delay before the command initiates. There is no problem in cmus or mpc, even clicking the seek bar in ncmpcpp is a lot faster.
What may this be due to?
And does the program support scripting or whatever similar stuff so I can bind "mpc seek +10" instead of the built-in?

Re: Ncmpcpp slow hotkey seeking; using scripts?

I think I am starting to figure out why the seeking is like that. Looks like ncmpcpp works a bit different than usual -
it wants you to press and hold the seek button until reached position, then you release and it starts calculating.
Quite sure it's intentional, so it must have a way of being tweaked.
