[SOLVED] vmware-horizon client breaking keybindings in KDE

Hi all,

whenever I use vmware-horizon-client (AUR package) to connect to a remote (Win7) machine I afterwards have completely lost any keybindings. No Alt+* or Ctlr+* works anymore, even only one Shift (forgot which one) is gone in my KDE Plasma setup.
I have just recently installed Archlinux+KDE on a work laptop and observed the same problem there as well, so it doesn't seem to be a very specific case of my one setup.

So my questions are the following:
1) since I found nothing on the interwebs, does anyone have an idea about a possible permanent solution for this?
2) how can I debug this, does anyone have an idea where to start?
3) actually having a workaround a la "manually restoring keybindings" by e.g. restarting a service or issuing whatever command would be an okay workaround for the beginning. does anyone have insight into the keybindings handling behind the curtain to tell if/how this can be done?

Re: [SOLVED] vmware-horizon client breaking keybindings in KDE

Solution found:

1) reset keyboard layout

setxkbmap en

2) restart kglobalaccel5

killall kglobalaccel5 && kglobalaccel5 2&>1

Solution found while

xmodmap -pm

showed no modifiers at all. After running above steps, it should be populated again.
Hopefully this helps someone else at some point.
