Random freeze with linux>=4.16

I'm experiencing random freezes with recent kernel versions: the screen disappears, and flashing lines are shown as in this video:
https://pkgbuild.com/~bgyorgy/freeze.webm

I tried many kernel versions between 4.16-1 and 5.1.15.arch1-1 (latest), but all of them freezes after a few hours/days. I'm not even able to login remotely via SSH, so I have to reset the system with the power button. The hardware is an Asus X54C laptop with Intel Core i3-2350M CPU, Intel HM65 chipset and Intel HD Graphics 3000 (Sandy Bridge) GPU. I never experienced this problem with linux<=4.15.

Is anyone have an idea what can I do?

Re: Random freeze with linux>=4.16

It seems that it was caused by the xf86-video-intel driver. After I switched to the modesetting driver, the freezes no longer occur.

Re: Random freeze with linux>=4.16

It still happens and I have no idea what to do. I reported this problem to the upstream, but they don't really care:

Does anyone have an idea?

Re: Random freeze with linux>=4.16

I still have no idea why does it happen. I tried different kernel parameters, but nothing prevents the freeze. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Re: Random freeze with linux>=4.16

Can you "safely" reboot with REISUB https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Keyboa … el_(SysRq) and then check/post the journal log of the previous boot

journalctl -b-1

?
