I am starting DWM using SDDM . Following list of configuration i am using
sudo cat /usr/share/xsessions/dwm.desktop
[Desktop Entry]
Type=Application
Exec=/usr/bin/dwmscript
DesktopNames=DWM
Name=DWM
Comment=DWM by sucklesscat /usr/bin/dwmscript
#!/bin/bash
while true; do
xsetroot -name "$( date + "%F %I:%M %p" )"
sleep 10
done &
exec dwmNo patches applied. When i open a window and close a window using shift+alt+q. Window will get close . But i am able to see the screenshot kind image of the previous window (screen tearing). How do i clear this, I mean screen is not clearing the closed window. or I am missing something?
But after this i install xcompmgr
and added xcompmgr in the starting of script . I don't find any screen tearing.
#!/bin/bash
xcompmgr -f -l 0.038 -o 0.040 -D 3 -F -C -n &
while true; do
xsetroot -name "$( date + "%F %I:%M %p" )"
sleep 10
done &
exec dwmBut when i add directly at .xinitrc i don't need to use xcompmgr and no screen tearing. What is the difference between these 3 approach?
1. using xsession wiithout xcompmgr ==> Getting screen tearing.
2. using .xinitrc to start dwm no screen tearing
3. using xsession with xcompmgr not screen tearing.
I don't want to use xcompmgr to fix tearing problem. Because it will clear my status bar. Please let me know what is the real issue here

Can you share your compton setting? What all the argument you used?
