FVWM

So i got my X working, but i am bored of using gnome, so i have been reading (and looking) at FVWM, it sounds and looks great!

So...

pacman -S fvwm

exec fvwm

<<ERROR>> cant open display

But... i can open gnome fine, any ideas?

Re: FVWM

I don't know why you're getting that error, but as a side issue, I'd strongly recommend getting fvwm-devel from unstable. fvwm from current, although considered the 'stable' version, is approaching two years old. And there's frankly nothing unstable about the latest fvwm.

Re: FVWM

Move the unstable repos to the bottom of your pacman.conf, and keep it uncommented. That should let you update your system to current, but still keep fvwm-devel, as well as fetch packages from that repos.

Re: FVWM

Well i think you need to put it in .xinitrc so its started after X.
FVWM cant start its own X Session automatically.
