Hi everyone }
I have just successfully install Archlinux on my computer following the Installation Guide. I have now a problem I tried to solve since more than 1 hour : the keyboard layout is stuck in US mode ...
During the installation, there were no problem. I could use the command "loadkeys fr_CH" or "loadkeys fr_CH-latin1" and it works.
Now, this command does not even work. By making a "sudo loadkeys fr_CH-latin1", it returns nothing but also do nothing as the keyboard stay US.
The return of "localectl" is the following :
System Locale: LANG=en-US.UTF-8
VC Keymap: fr_CH
X11 Layout: n/a
I set the /etc/locale.conf as "LANG=en-US.UTF-8"
I set the /etc/vconsole.conf as
"
KEYMAP=fr_CH
FONT=eurlatgr
"
I did not find any answer in the wiki or in the forum. I hope you can help me.
Thank you for your time !

Actually in a console shell or in a GUI shell?
For the latter, see https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Xo … figuration

You notice it right : I was trying to have the keyboard for GNU shell. The console shell was correctly set up. Thank you.
I had this line in the .xprofile file :
setxkbmap ch -variant fr -option caps:super
accordingly to the list in /usr/share/X11/xkb/rules/base.lst
Still, I have an other question : The keyboard is now well defined except for accent character like é, à è ç ... Do I have to change the FONT value in console.conf ? I know it has something to do with the encoding but I don't know where to set it...
Thank you !

vconsole.conf has no impact on X11 keyboard/output.
Where do you expect the accented chars, does your keyboard look like this: http://kbdlayout.info/KBDSF/
What actually happens if you press the relevant keys?

Ok Ok
So except the numerical part on the right, it is exactly this keyboard.
When I want to use this key in the terminal, I get first nothing and then a question mark in a lozenge by pressing space :
Note that in tty console, this accent key make absolutely nothing.

Smells like a locale issue, output of "locale" and "locale -a"?
