[SOLVED] USB Keyboard doesn't work passhrase cryptsetup/ systemd

Hey guys smile

First of all some information:

Kernel version:

5.2.0-arch2-1-ARCH

systemd version:

242.32-3

encrypted: yes with cryptsetup
Laptop or Desktop?: Laptop but I want to switch over to a Desktop...

The Keyboard doesn't work when I'm trying to type the passphrase... it seems like the entire keyboard is deactivated...

I tried multiple USB Ports and diffrent keyboards but It won't work....

I also generated ramdisks with different kernel versions (5.1.x 5.2.0) multiple times with different HOOKS in the /etc/mkinitcpio.conf file

HOOKS=(base udev autodetect keyboard modconf block encrypt filesystems fsck)

Thanks in advance smile

Are you using an external keyboard? If so, have you tried a ramdisk with the 'keyboard' hook before the 'autodetect' hook. as suggested in the Wiki?

Wooow! Thank you very much !! lquidfire

it worked like a charm smile

Steps to solve the problem:

Edit /etc/mkinicpio.conf and like lquidfire wrote 'keyboard' before 'autodetect'

In my case:

before:

HOOKS=(base udev autodetect keyboard modconf block encrypt filesystems fsck)

after:

HOOKS=(base udev keyboard autodetect modconf block encrypt filesystems fsck)

then execute:

mkinitcpio -p linux

and reboot

done big_smile
