Chromium and chromium based app freeze after inactivity

A couple of month ago, Spotify started to freeze after some period of inactivity on the app (between 30s and 15m). It's been quite random and I couldn't get anything in the logs. It's now happening to Slack and Chromium. The display is not refreshed anymore and just copy what was last printed on the screen. The applications are still working properly (sound coming out of Spotify, media keys working).

I've tried launching chromium with "--enable-logging=stderr --v=1" but I couldn't find anything of interest. This is becoming really annoying and I don't know where to start to debug this problem as it seems random. I'm running a fully updated ArchLinux with AwesomeWM as window manager and nouveau as graphic driver.

Do you have any advice about how to debug this?
Thanks!
