Can't unmount external disk even though i have set permissions for uid

[SOLVED]

I am trying to unmount the external hard disk but i get the message that operation is not permitted.

Here is my fstab

# Static information about the filesystems.
# See fstab(5) for details.

# <file system> <dir> <type> <options> <dump> <pass>
# /dev/sda6
UUID=3c66006e-4992-4fc8-bbe6-be736ebee0bb       /               ext4           >

# /dev/sda7
UUID=543dc037-b3e8-4402-981c-6a8794a3b851       /home           ext4           >

# /Windows
UUID=AE242C6D242C3AAB                           /mnt/windows    ntfs-3g        >

# /External
UUID=B84ED71D4ED6D36C                           /mnt/external   ntfs-3g        >

# /Touro S
UUID=01D38ED6C6BB5E30                           /mnt/touro      ntfs-3g        >

If i run as root it works. But shouldn't it let me to run it since i have added there my user id?

ANy ideas how to fix this?

Either your fstab is fundamentally broken, or you have not pasted all of it. As it is, it tells us nothing.

Similarly, the rest of your post is uninformative; unmount how?

Re: Can't unmount external disk even though i have set permissions for uid

fields 4, 5 and 6 have been truncated in the fstab you posted.
Edit:
too slow

Re: Can't unmount external disk even though i have set permissions for uid

You have posted a truncated file, missing out the most important information. However it sounds like you're misunderstanding what the uid/gid options do. Re-read 'man mount', the option you need is documented in that manpage too.
