Re: [SOLVED] Help fixing warnings in xorg log

Specifically, which errors are you concerned about and what have you tried so far to correct them?

Ok so here is what i'm concerned about:

(WW) Failed to open protocol names file lib/xorg/protocol.txt
(WW) The directory "/usr/share/fonts/***** does not exist
(WW) Open ACPI failed (/var/run/acpid.socket) (No such file or directory)

And this

XF86EnableIOPOrts: failed to set IOPL for I/O (Operation not permitted)

Thanks for your time

What has your research into those warnings found so far?

I haven't had luck with the last error

XF86EnableIOPOrts: failed to set IOPL for I/O (Operation not permitted)

And I didn't bother with the others

https://unix.stackexchange.com/question … -permitted first result from querying that in a a search engine
I am not suggesting that solution is it negates the entire point of running X as none root.

Actually the x session is fine until I switch to tty2 and run start then I get this error.
And how about the others ?
Do you have any ideas what would cause that ?
Waiting for your response.

Re: [SOLVED] Help fixing warnings in xorg log

First, there are no errors in that log.  None.

There are many warnings, all of which appear perfectly normal.  I'm not familiar with the one highlighted in post #5, but if you are not having any issues, don't worry about warnings.

And this has absolutely nothing to do with this thread.  Start a new thread if you have a new and completely unrelated question.
