I just downloaded the AUR package pyqt-doc. How do I access and read this file?

Have a look on the PKGBUILD of the package, then it's pretty obvious what to do. ![]()

After you built the package you can inspect the contents of the package with `pacman -Qlp packagename`
In the case of pyqt-doc the doc directory was dropped from the tarball with 5.9 instead use [1] if you want the examples you could update the PKGBUILD for pyqt-doc to install just the examples or extract them from the 5.13 tarball [2]

I'll have a look at those.

Running pacman -Qlp pyqt-doc` I get:
error: could not load package 'pyqt-doc': could not find or read packagebut I do have the 5.8 version installed. And just to mention, I installed it via yay.

Make an effort. Even a quick look at the pacman man page would clarify exactly why you got that error and how your situation differs from the one loqs made that recommendation for - it would also be abundantly clear what you'd have to change for it to work in your situation.
Please also revise your title to actually reference the package you are asking about. You are not asking about viewing 'doc' files, but rather files included in the pyqt-doc package.

Well its the -p flag giving an error:
-p, --file
Signifies that the package supplied on the command line is a file and not an entry in the database. The file
will be decompressed and queried. This is useful in combination with --info and --list.Thanks to loqs, I didn't know there's a whole directory of examples. That's really helpful.
