I seem to have screwed up something along my installation. I wanted to have / mounted on sda1, a /home partition on /sda2, and a swap partition on sda3. However, every time after I login, lsblk outputs:
NAME MAJ:MIN RM SIZE RO TYPE MOUNTPOINT
sda 8:0 0 596.2G 0 disk
├─sda1
│ 8:1 0 19.6G 0 part /
├─sda2
│ 8:2 0 569G 0 part
└─sda3
8:3 0 7.6G 0 part [SWAP]
sr0 11:0 1 1024M 0 rom showing no mountpoints on /sda2
Whenever I try to build them using mkdir and mount, it will show up on lsblk, but my xfce session wont allow me to open any new terminal or programs, even though I can keep using the ones I already opened without any trouble. I'm running this commands using sudo.
What can I do to correctly generate the mountpoint?
Thankyou

Since your desired home directory has not been mounted on /home before, the respective files are now on / or sda1 resp. You'll need to copy the home folder from sda1 to sda2 to have your home folder available there.

How should I go about that? using cp?.
Could that be the reason why it seems to reset itself after rebooting?
Thank you.

You can copy the files using cp or any graphical tool of your choice. Don't forget to copy any hidden files you care for.
I assume that by resetting you mean your mountpoint of /home getting lost. For that you should modify your fstab under /etc/fstab.
Here (https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Fstab#Usage) you can see an example where /dev/sda3 is the home partition.
