Re: Counter-Strike:Global Offensive

For how long does it stick to ~15 fps? Several seconds or just stuttering?

Re: Counter-Strike:Global Offensive

it stays at ~15 fps until i change the vsync setting  . if i set it to double buffer or triple buffer it works just fine and afterwards if i change it to no vsync it still runs fine i could not find something that really triggers it except loading always when entering a match this happens and i have to change the setting and put it back on no vsync but sometimes it just decides to do that

Re: Counter-Strike:Global Offensive

Could you try moving your config.cfg file located in /home/username/.local/share/Steam/userdata/[id]/730/local/cfg also do you have any steam launch options?

Re: Counter-Strike:Global Offensive

No i did not set any launch options i am launching it through steam and sometimes through lutris but it does not seem to make any difference . Also what do you mean by moving the config like removing it and let the game make a new one ?

Wait you are running the game with proton? If so try using native version

Have you tried default nvidia settings? Also make sure game can read/write config files

Re: Counter-Strike:Global Offensive

There should be an option in nvidia-xserver, about permissions if there is an issue with your config you can just move/delete the folder and verify game file trough steam

Re: Counter-Strike:Global Offensive

dude i am getting very frustrated with this. the only reset button i could find in nvidia-xserver was for the display configuration i pressed that ,i verified the game and it found 2 missing files and it downloaded them i even went to /.steam/steam/userdata/id/730/local/cfg and set the video.txt file to 777 with chmod still the same should i send a ticket to valve directly ?

Re: Counter-Strike:Global Offensive

I don't think csgo is the issue, could you try creating a new user account logging with steam and downloading csgo?

Re: Counter-Strike:Global Offensive

ok so that seems to have  worked i even loaded multiple maps to be sure and they all worked i tried to somehow force it into doing that by presisng esc and tab fast. but now my question is what is the problem i mean the newly created account doesn't even have sudo privileges

Re: Counter-Strike:Global Offensive

At this point drivers are fine i guess, now we have to discover if the issue it's a game config file or not, you could
1) Copy the game from the user that you just created (and make sure to take ownership on those file) so you can avoid downloading the game again
2) Or uninstall the game and delete remaining files to download the game again

If this works the problem was some game files misconfigured

Re: Counter-Strike:Global Offensive

actually i think it is the permissions because by changing the settings in the newly created account i managed to make the same thing happen by changing the setting and when i put the to default everything works same on the old account now how do i set the requierd permissions ?

Re: Counter-Strike:Global Offensive

Take a look at File permissions and attributes

You can also do it from a GUI File Browser if you prefer

Re: Counter-Strike:Global Offensive

Maybe the problem is not in

 /local/cfg/

?

If i were you, i would just copy the working game files / reinstall the game, unless we have more clues of what could be wrong
