I followed the wiki and installed arch Linux, gave my root user a password, and created a new user. However, when I try to login using SDDM (since I selected KDE Plasma for my desktop environment), it requests a password. The root password doesn't work. So what should I do? I can't login as root neither, since it just asks for the password, and not the user.

Welcome to the arch linux forums bernardi23. If you switch to another console (Ctrl+Alt+F2) can you then login as root?
What command did you use to create the new user? Did you create a password for the new user?

Change to a different console by using Ctrl-Alt-F2
Log in as root
set a password for your user using passwd <username>
switch back to the first console with Ctrl-Alt-F1
Log in as your user.
Remember to go back to the second console and log out from the root account
Edit: Too slow,.

Please provide more information

KDE plasma requires several packages, (e.g SDDM) some of those packages link the interface with your users. SDDM is the KDE version of GDM those 'link' your users to the interface. My guess is that you have your users working but you don't have the KDE dependances. You can check this by using your terminal. Press CTL, ALT, (CTL ALT works on most systems, may be different on yours) and F3 (keep going up the F keys until you hit a terminal), then try to log in from there. If you can log in then it's your KDE install, make sure SDDM is installed.
