Command Line CD Player

Although VLC works fine on my computer, it seems wasteful just to play an audio CD. Can anyone recommend a command line CD player that will work with ALSA?

dcd, perhaps?

If it doesn't work with alsa natively, you can always try and run it via aoss wrapper.

And there are three other console cd players in AUR, enough to choose from ;-)

Re: Command Line CD Player

I'll also throw in a shameless plug for nccd, a curses based cd player I've written in perl.  It can do cddb lookups if you are connected to the 'net.  It is very simple to use, but does require you to install a couple of perl modules.

Audio::CD is available on the aur, but Curses::UI is not.  I'll try to get it up there in the next day or so.  All documentation is available on the website.
