So I am trying to install minecraft on this computer and I can't get it to work, it throws:
terminate called after throwing an instance of 'std::logic_error'
what(): basic_string::_M_construct null not valid
fish: 'minecraft-launcher' terminated by signal SIGABRT (Abort)
I tried rebuilding, changing the java version (i tested java 12, 10 and 8), removing .minecraft, nothing works.
And on my other computer it runs without any problems. wtf?
Any Ideas?

I still have the problem with the Launcher. I tried to reinstall and still nothing and maybe its important I have gcc 9.1.0.

As the package minecraft-launcher does not build anything, no build tools such as gcc are used so their versions do not matter.
Ask the producers of the binary for support.
Edit:
Have you tried the suggested fix from https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/mine … ent-706291?

This also worked for me. Just as a heads up, this was caused due to the fact I did not have a locale setup. I followed the steps on the Arch wiki page for Locale and I can now use minecraft-launcher normally, without prepending LC_ALL=C.
