[Solved] sddm login loop as normal user

Hello everyone, recently i have rebooted my machine. After that I got problems with logging into my system.

As a normal user, after filling the password at login screen, it returned to the login screen again.
However, I can login in as root.

Below is the output of

journalctl -b -u sddm

It seems that when login in as normal user, session started and then stoped. Maybe there are some problems with my user config file. Any idea about it?

What's in your xorg.log?

Please also check the complete journal, the issue isn't with sddm but with your xfce session (maybe related to the X11 server, but I'd rather not bet on that)
You can also create a new regular user and try to login as that and/or temporarily move away the xfce config files of your main user.

Thanks for replying.

I added a new user and I can login in as the new user. Then I backed up all the config files like

~/.Xresource ~/.XAUTHORITY  ~/.xinitrc

and removed them under my main user and changed my shell from zsh to bash.
Then i managed to login in. However, after i recovered these file and shell, i still can login in. That's weird.

In all, problem seems to be solved.

If you restored them while being logged into xfce, the latter might have overriddent the critical bits on logout.
