Hello
I have a problems getting usb devices to work. I have mp3 player and my sister's digital camera.
I tried to connect them to what happens ,if udev can handle them.
And it is nothing...
there are no /dev/sda no /dev/sdb
so i checked(with connected either mp3 or cam)
lsusb -> nothing...
I have selected usb hook in mkinitcpio
Using beyond kernel.
Really i dont know what to do.
Btw. Mp3 has been working on mandriva and ubuntu .It is usual chinese usb-stick mp3player

Just take look to your /var/log/messages.log during plugging in. And post the related part of it.

No new info in /var/log/messages.log when i plug in any usb device...
Edit:
Now i also see that /proc/bus/usb is empty ,there should be devices int there shouldn't it?
It is almost like i havent got any usb ports but i have and i know that they're working (were working few days ago and i havent done anything to them since) Devices are also good. Dont know whgat to do anymore.

Check if the usb modules are loaded:
lsmod | grep hci
Have you other devices to check if the usb-ports work correct? Maybe you should try the standard kernel of arch.

maybe you should check your /etc/fstab file...read up on it before you do anything...

Fstab is okay as everything else also.
After many hours i spend on this problem resolution happened to be trivial = bios.It bios configuration usb ports was disabled...
Mp3 player works ,digital camera still have to be tested tho(dont have it now with me)
Thx everyone for help.
