I created and booted a USB drive with ipxe.lkrn.
It seemed to boot correctly, but hung on searching for link-up.
I'm guessing that it's looking for an ethernet connection, correct?
Is it possible to use ipxe.lkrn with a wifi connection?

Archlinux uses customised ipxe images that don't support wireless.
https://www.archlinux.org/releng/netboot/ , check requirements .
Are you sure you can't use normal installation isos ?
Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.
clean chroot building not flexible enough ?
Try clean chroot manager by graysky
